For the Love of JDM hosted their 3rd installment of their monthly Meet & Greet in association with Southside Crew at the Killarney Mall in Johannesburg. With the struggle to secure venues in the first week they had to postpone to the second week of the month, not an easy task, but with the help of Dawood from SSC they managed to secure the undercover parking levels at the mall.
With the weather playing up, the night looked like it would be a wash out as not many guys wanted to bring their cars out in the wet and rainy weather, especially after the heavy rains that fell on the JDM Certified Jap run V.2. So with a handful of cars meeting at the BP oasis, we got onto the N1 and headed out to the venue.
This gave us some time to take a chilled drive bypassing the City night lights, as we headed toward the M16 “Double Decker” high way; what can I say the site of the cars under the bridge with the Jozi night lights in the background made for an awesome atmosphere before the park off, and well some awesome shots too.
We arrived at the Killarney Mall a little after 8pm and we were greeted by some of the Southside Crew members as they ushered us up to the correct parking level, there we were met with a friendly face as Dawood showed us where he’d like to main JDM cars parked as he wanted to keep to the theme of the night… which kept some of the non-JDM car parked a little off to the side. Something a little different to the normal meets, as the guys know all are welcome to their meets. As I moved up to higher level I was greeted by some awesome cars, namely Jude’s white Supra (featured in issue 197) and the two toight like a toiger Honda S2000 from the S2Kartel parked next two each other, these two static rides sit so pretty slammed to the ground.Well as was expected the rain really did put a damper on the night, as not as many people pulled through, but as for those that did come through they made the night pretty awesome as the parking lot was buzzing with the sounds of JDM cars and guys talking about their builds and what plans they have for the big up-and-coming German VS Jap show on the 1st of July at Nasrec.
With the night coming to an end and the guys bellies full from the Killareny Malls restaurants, the cars soon starting leaving the venue stopping to pay for their parking for parking… but what happened we did not expect at all; the Killarney Mall had supplied Dawood with free parking tickets for all of those who came through… a Big Thank you to the mall for that and letting us use their undercover parking.
Till the next time, keep it safe, keep it JDM and as always Keep it Supafly!
