The Toyota Corolla has evolved as much as the can of Iron Brew soft drink. Their design team f@cked off after the first attempt and are now building Toyota Corolla’s in much the same way. People who drink Iron Brew aren’t really your chic and savvy people -sorry Krutch- but they like the taste. Now in this case Wayne Modz (haha) has done the same thing; focused most of his power into the engine while keeping the look Iron Brew. The list of engine mods is an import block, a custom 20v RXi head with 45mm throttles, Dicktator management, Viper branches and Cowley exhaust.

On Sale: 22 June
Well it’s that time of the day again, to update the web. I put this off as long as possible so that I can have the new issue in my grubby paws when I scribe this stuff. That way I know exactly what’s in the issue, and can therefore replay the details to you, our beloved web reader. As luck would have it, the new issue’s not here yet, must be the stupid construction zone speed limits keeping the couriers up.
Dubrun 2009.
The annual Dubrun hosted by the VW Club of South Africa is an awesome event that has been run for a couple of years now. It involves a bunch of members meeting up in the very early hours of the morning to drive down to KZN in convoy and stop along the way for brekkie and to stretch their legs. Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous years run, there was no chance I was going to miss this one. Batty and Drol joined us this year and as per usual they added some livery and shed loads of humour to the whole experience.

Krutch and I recently made our way to Edenvale to hook up with George and his Uber sexy matte black E46 M3 that has received its fair share of attention from Sav abd his team at Savspeed. this had to be one of the nicest shoots I have ever done. The location, lighting and the car all just seemed to work hand in hand with each other. Krutch and I took a great deal of time with this superb car to get just the right attitude from the shots and to portray the utter beast that this car is.

So our sound man Neeresh has his finger on the pulse of the local sound industry and has been telling me about this little Bug for some time now. Built by the ever capable crew at Boomtown as a demo vehicle for one of their clients I’m sure you’ll agree that this is quite a looker. Our day started by leaving the office relatively early to get there at a reasonable hour, but a traffic situation wasn’t helping. So a little late and anxious that the light was going to be all wrong I began shooting. I think the shots will do this Bug some justice!

This was a loooong shoot purely because there was just so much to photograph. First it was in the dyno room, then we had the bonnet off and we even had it up on the lift to have a look underneath at all the shiny bits. Then we also got distracted by the other projects they were busy with; like an E92 M3 about to get supercharged and an E46 M3 CSL on its way to 1000HP. We’ll have to go back for these at a later stage. Read more
