Rocking out with Straatligkinders

Warren and myself trekked through to HS Monument in Krugersdorp to chat to the guys from Straatligkinders, a young hard-rock/punk-core band that’s taking the country by storm. Speaking of storms… it caned down right before the shoot but let up just as we arrived.
Straatligkinders is yet another office favourite, we just had to find out what we had in common!

We swung by BSharp Studios in Boksburg last night to chat to Francois VanCoke and Wynand Myburgh, singer and bassist for Fokofpolisiekar and VanCoke Kartel. We had a chat about their history with cars and their new album, Skop, Skiet en Donner and had a few laughs at the same time!

Low down and dirty with the Monstermob

Just before the start of the October round of The Rock club drifting challenge, we met up with Otto Graven and the Monstermob R33 twins to get the low down on what goes on in Kimberly.
The interview with Otto is in Issue 98 (on shelves now) while the epic R33 Skyline twins will feature in one of our upcoming issues.
I was once again the brave (read: insane) sod who hung out the window while Otto and Ronnie drifted in tandem around The Rock. I was bruised for days in places I didn’t know I had. When you don’t have a seatbelt or harness to hold you in place, hanging out the window of a stripped out drift car is a challenge.

Cult Car Shoot

Here’s a sneak peek at our Cult Car for the next issue we’re working on.
It’s the revered Volvo 850 T5-R that enjoyed celebrated success in the BTCC. It punches out some healthy figures for a 14 year old street car.
Read up about it in Issue 99.
In the mean time you get to stare at the back of Wally’s head as it cooks in the sweltering sun.
