That’s right! Can you believe it? It’s already that time of the year where the who’s who of modified metal gather together in one of the country’s biggest motor shows.
This year the show takes place from the 23rd to the 24th of April and promises to be even bigger than ever. Speed and Sound will have a stand there – manned by us, the very people that piece your favourite magazine together. We’ll have some hot cars on display as well as other cool things to look at.
Don’t miss this once a year event – it’s going to be insane!

On Saturday the 17th April we attended the first round of the Carnival City South African Drift Challenge at The Rock Raceway in Brakpan. It was to be an epic day out with a total of 37 cars entered into the day’s proceedings.
A big round of applause to the out of town competitors who traveled from as far afield as Cape Town to compete in the event.
Taking the win on the day was Otto Graven in his awesome new Nissan 350Z Turbo. For more results and info check out Issue 106.

He started by having the front bumper modified ever so slightly, put on a more curved set of side skirts and added a rear apron. Read more

Yes, I know, another Mk1. It really is justified though; this thing is super clean and super quick. It belongs to a chap known as Bibi and it’s causing a scene at the Sport Compact events thanks to running in the mid 11-second time frame. We also have coverage of the first round of the AutoZone Sport Compact series, and while it wasn’t too well-attended, there were some power cars running some power times, most notably the time from Richard Jordaan. You’ll have to buy the mag to see that though. Read more
