On Sale: 15 March

Issue 103 is once again, wicked, cool and worth sinking your teeth into. The car splashed on the cover is special in a few ways. Firstly, it’s a Cape car, as you know most hail from Gauteng simply because there are more up here. Then, it’s also owned by a lady, which as you know, it’s not common to see a tasty woman with a tasty car. The only other one I can recall over the last ten years was Sone and her Honda. The last cool point about the car is that it’s now the first time a husband and wife team have had covers cars. Firdous’ husband, Noer, is owner of the insane gold 350Z that graced the cover of Issue 86. So yeah, a special car that’s gonna make many guys green with envy. Read more

cover101On Sale: 18 January

With the festive season done and dusted and the masses returning to the grindstone, we can put our 100 Issue milestone behind us and focus on the next big year ahead of us. With the drama of the FIFA World Cup looming nearer it’s nice to know that there’s still a staple that you can rely on – Issue 101 of your favourite performance magazine. We feature the Red Light District Repsold MR2 Mk1. Built to take on the drag strip, this potent 1600 has already run a 10.7 without gas. It’s name come from the fact that it started out it’s modified life in the land of windmills and weed. The Budnik BMW E46 M3 is a circuit demon built with only one purpose – to be as light and as fast as possible without having to rely on boost. This NA screamer has been done right and is a sight to behold.

Issue 99

November 10, 2009 by amish · 3 Comments

cover991On Sale: 17 November

Issue 99 has just been wrapped up. It was a chaotic one; you’ll notice that this update is less than a month after our last one, that’s how busy we’ve been. We are however, super amped to bring you this issue as it has some killer content. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does.

So what is there to look forward to in our last double-digit issue? For starters, our cover car is the epitome of Old School Cool. An air force grey Mk1 2-door with all the right old-school retro bits combining euro flavour. This has to be one of the best efforts we’ve ever seen – even I like it! And that’s saying something! Sticking to the VW theme, we bring you Michael’s track ripping Evo substitute. Andy took it for a drive and was blown away by the performance of this GTI. Goodies from all the right tuning houses make this Golf V a force to be reckoned with. Read more

Issue 97

cover97On Sale: 21 September

Oh so close to that magical 100th issue no. Actually, 100 is just a number, nothing special will happen except for the fact that we’ll follow the 100th issue with, get this, Issues 101! Carrying on… This here is Issue 97, and as per the last 96, it’s pretty damn cool. Ok, there have been some miff ones in the past; we all have that ‘one’ we try to forget. This one is different, you may notice another layout change, different fonts and styles are being used again, both in an attempt to keep the magazine fresh, but also because nothing is set in stone. Issue 96

cover96

On Sale: 17 August

96 - four more to go until a pretty serious milestone for us. Lets not focus on number 100 though, it’s 96 that here, so that’s what you need to know about. The cover features what could be the most powerful Mk5 GTi in SA so far. Zubair’s car is awesome, it has looks and power, and it’s one of many toys in his collection. For the first time ever it seems we’ve put two cars owned by the same man in one issue, so the Vitamin C Golf can also be found in Zubair’s garage. Lucky man! Added to the German hatches is a Jap supercar of sorts, the Remus Mk4 Supra. Not only is it a veritable powerhouse, the car also sports some pretty serious paint that has abbreviations and codes only spray booth geeks will appreciate.

Issue 95

cover95

On Sale: 20 July

Issue 95 is where it’s! This issue is red hot, if not for the fact that it’s full of wicked rides, then for the fact that summin’ went wrong with the print run and everything that was meant to be orange turned bright red, as did the faces of people in the pics. Much like us here in the office when we saw this. Alas, such is life. Anyhoo, in the new ‘red’ issue, the usuals are there like the Cult Car, which is a stupidly yummy, is an Audi RS2 Avante. Arguably THE HOTTEST station wagon EVER! Word On The Street is Neval Kanjee’s OPC, a pretty damn potent streetcar that’s already run a 12.9-second quarter. For Where Are They Now we dig up the Jenvey Mk1 Golf and see what’s to become of it, boost is its destiny. Drift Zone sees Nationals at The Rock, sideways fun as usual. Other events include the Dub Run, Bloem Drags, Sport Compact, The Castrol Extreme show, the Gert Vorster dyno day and lastly, the premier event, the Autostyle Show in Umhlanga.

cover94On Sale: 22 June

Well it’s that time of the day again, to update the web. I put this off as long as possible so that I can have the new issue in my grubby paws when I scribe this stuff. That way I know exactly what’s in the issue, and can therefore replay the details to you, our beloved web reader. As luck would have it, the new issue’s not here yet, must be the stupid construction zone speed limits keeping the couriers up.
