Issue 119 – on sale 19 July
Welcome to the gangster edition! Yeah, this is another themed issue, all about gangs and gangsters. We liked the idea, which is why we did it, and also, luckily for us, the gangster theme can be spread pretty wide. Gangsters over the ages have always made use of some proper rides, this wasn’t a way to show off their ill-gotten money, it was to show the competition who the top dog is, and also, that if you do it right, crime pays. The more successful the gangster, the better his ride, just like most businessmen but gangster have better taste. Well usually. Read more

Issue 118 – on sale 20 June.
On the back of celebrating ten years of high octane modifying, we return to the tried and trusted and punch out an issue packed with power. The speed side of things sees our cover car, Quinten’s already notorious Honda Civic EH, make its national debut. This N/A Screamer has already set the cat amongst the pigeons in the NA FWD class and is set to make big waves.
Speaking of notorious rides, the MACE BMW 325iS Evo2 shows us why hypercars are no match for this locally bred beast. Old school rules with Danie’s blown arch MkII Ford Escort packing a powerful punch thanks to its 2JZ-GTE motor. We compare two sibling BMWs with entirely different agendas with the Afrox Team and their pair of 335is as we shoot them on track.
We profile RACE! and bring you action from the BMW Club Track day the Saldanha Top End runs while Neeresh brings you the long awaited action from the Rand Show event.
In the sound side, the Gangsta celebrate a new addition to the family, his new son, Kiyash. He also brings you the two-time Bass Boxing champion and his DD Opel Corsa. Big Boss Auto reveals a VW Scirocco with a banging Y2K Rockford system, and a super neat BMW 325iS with a pounding Audio Panache setup.
All this action, and more, in the July issue of Speed and Sound Magazine, on sale 20 June.

Welcome to the dark side… of Issue 116.
This month we delve into the dark, murky depths of Johannesburg and Cape Town to bring you the most sinister rides around. With each and every feature car darker than the night itself, the Black Edition is something special.
We dig out a blood thirsty Subaru GT from the Cape and shine a light in its face to extract the truth. While in the Cape, we hunted down a somber Civic kitted out with all the right groceries.

It’s a festival of speed in this month’s Speed and Sound magazine. There’s some serious power being laid out on the pages this month but we haven’t forgotten the styling and sound scene either.
Our cover car is, unfortunately, not a genuine Nismo 400R. What it is though is much, much more. In fact, it’s a 485kW replica by Hot Staff and this is matted to an all wheel drive system. Read all about Godzirra in this months issue.

Tear open this month’s issue of Speed and Sound Magazine and you’ll be treated to some of the hottest content on the planet.
Issue 114 packs a punch with some serious drag muscle in the form of a fully reworked Dodge Challenger that we shot with the crazy CMax Roller Derby Girls. There’s also some Cape flavour that also houses a mighty V8, only this time in a diminutive Ford Escort body.

On Sale: 17 Jan
This month’s banging issue of Speed and Sound caters for just about everyone. Note that I said just about everyone – the Opel guys are probably not going to be overly impressed. Well, you know what they say – you can’t please everyone all the time. That said it’s still a pukka read with some crazy Jap flavour in the form of a set of Subaru twins from the house of ASE who are known for their insane Scooby builds. Get the low down on Global GTR’s latest track toy – a race ready monster GTR. It also happens to be our cover car this month with it’s striking branding. There’s a little bit of muscle too with a ‘70s Camaro that has been done just right. This one made the Staff Favourite a tough decision. Read more

2010 is at its end already; a year of highs and lows has come and gone. With the recession billed as being over, lots of people managed to have some disposable income saved up to put into building and upgrading cars. The end result of this has been printed in these pages for your entertainment and from the feedback; it’s been much appreciated. So that’s a job well done on our end then, which is the only thing we strive for. To echo past editorial content in the last magazine of the year, I’m going to urge you to be careful out on the roads. We’re known to have a ridiculously high death rate in the festive season. I mentioned last month that we’d include a little something on the 20th anniversary of the Superboss, we shot some of them at Zwartkops Racetrack (thanks a mil Big Z), somehow we got carried away and now it’s up to seven pages! We have two interviews, one with Deon Daniels, also known as DJ Ready D and with Costa Ioannou, the latest “addition” to the Speed & Sound Team. Costa is an MMA fighter competing in the fast-growing EFC series and we’re sponsoring the man, so to let you guys get acquainted with him, we asked him a bunch of arb questions on your behalf. There’s a V8 show at US Connection, a Showtime Fanatics Halloween Show & Shine and Nationals at Killarney in the Cape. Another ‘first ever’ was the drift event at Kyalami, Supadrift, which is in here too. Read more

So what’s in this issue? More of the best of course. On the cover is a smooth and sexy S13 in street-drift spec. This thing was built right; just take a look for yourself. Complimenting it is a Mk1 Golf (yes, another one) from the Cape, a hot BMW 2002 from Mozambique, a modded Ferrari, another look at a monster Evo8 and the start of many street sleeper features. It’s a mild looking Mini, but don’t let that fool you, there are more horses under the bonnet than you’d believe, but for details you need to turn to the feature. There’s the usual array of events covering both speed and sound. Read more
