Insane Hummer - Just how we like ‘em!

Ok, so we don’t get snow here, but that wouldn’t stop me from getting my hands on one of these sick puppies!  This monster Hummer H2 is called the Bomber and it’s been created by the folk at GeigerCars.  The mad tuners replaced the normal 20×8.5 wheels with a set of something called Mattracks 88M1-A1 rubber tracks.  The rubber tracks attached are 40cm wide and 150cm long and the car is propelled by a 398hp V8 engine.  That means there’s loads of torque powering these tracks so this Hummer can pull itself over just about any obstacle.  I want a black one!

Money can’t buy brains - GTR crash ends in fraud!

March 18, 2010 by Krutch · 1 Comment

Yup, some people really shouldn’t be allowed to sponge oxygen.  I mean if you’re gonna do something completely stupid, like street race at night, then make sure there are no cameras around with footage that can be used as evidence.  Added to that, if you’re gonna be stupid and street race, then make sure you can actually drive properly.  The Nissan GTR is one of the best handling cars out there, but in the hands of a plonker, it’s just another car.  Brainy brother and sister Jay and Tracy Chen from Southern California were arrested on suspicion of insurance fraud after investigators found a YouTube video show their crash during a street race.

“Investigators say 21-year-old Jay Chen and his 29-year-old sister, Tracy, both of Diamond Bar, California initially gave conflicting reports about what caused $76,000 in damage to Jay’s 2009 Nissan GT-R. After the video was discovered on net, prosecutors charged Jay Chen with six counts of felony insurance fraud and his sister with one count.  They were booked March 5 and both face prison time and fines if they are convicted”.

Lol - just lol.  There’s more info here and here.

Corrida-WP Happy Birthday Ridha Mallick!

April 15, 2009 by Krutch · 1 Comment

Ridha Mallick is undoubtedly one of our biggest fans. His pride and joy is his 2006 Black Golf 4 GTiR named “CORRIDA”. It’s his goal is to have his car appear in Speed & Sound, but unfortunately that isn’t an immediate reality.  Ridha’s best friend Taryn Vos says: “It would mean the world if Speed & Sound could upload a picture of his car onto the website and dedicate a birthday wish to him from the Speed & Sound crew.”  Well, here it is, Have a great birthday bro, and keep on working on having your ride in our glossy pages.  From myself Krutch, and all of us here at Speed & Sound, don’t do anythying we wouldn’t do -and if you do, take pics! Star Wars X-Fighter - Or a Honda?

November 5, 2008 by Krutch · 1 Comment

Damn, some people have some pretty weird obsessions. We’ve showed you that chap who built his own Lambo, we showed you that othe nutter who built a replica of a Back 2 The Future car and we even featured a Pretoria man who built a K.I.T.T replica over a few years. Seems these cars are a pretty common breed, and we recently unearthed a Star Wars car - of sorts. If you know even the slightest about Star Wars, you’ll know that there were no cars, it was way too futuristic for that. And if you know anything about current times, you’ll no doubt know that no one has a personal jet parked in their driveway. That leads us to this guy, he combined an X-Fighter from Star Wars with a Honda Del Sol - and maybe it’s just me who’s a little weird, but I love it!

It even has it’s own site - click here!

Hail damage? Try this first, it can’t hurt!

October 30, 2008 by Krutch · 3 Comments

With our summer being rather wet and hot at the same time, it also means the conditions are often perfect for hail.  Now hail is great for clearing dead leaves off trees and getting rid of spiders in my garden, but it’s close to No.1 on the “Bad for my car” list.  Hail damage is the worst kind.  It doesn’t really break things, it just makes things look untidy, unkept, miff.  Having your pride and joy look like a golf ball is never, ever a good thing.  Paintless dent removal is your only fix, and that can cost thousands.  Have a look at this video and see the magic.  I have no clue if it works, but I shall be testing it soon, hopefully not on my own car though.

Fix hail and other dents by spending 5 minutes here.

Back to the future, I mean past. Past-future… Oh whatever!

If you’re younger than 25, chances are you won’t have a clue about the Back 2 The Future Trilogy. In short, there was a nutty professor (Christopher Lloyd) who build a time machine out of a DeLorean. He had a young friend in highschool who travelled through time with him, Marty (Michael J. Fox). In this time (well the 80’s) and any other time Marty went to, his arch enemy was Griff, a typical highschool jock who made Marty’s life miserable. In their future travels, Griff had a cool (ok, back then it looked cool!) BMW hover-car. It seems Jeff Chabotte thought it was really, really cool, and so he built himself one. Does it hover? Who cares?

Take a look at this wicked BMW and the build process!

Hand built Lambo sees the light…

October 22, 2008 by Krutch · Leave a Comment

Some chap saw a car in a movie and then started obsessing about it. That same story can be told about a million different guys I’m sure, but this chap actually built the car he saw. Sure it took him so long that the end result is now an ancient relic on the roads, but it reallt does look like the car was put together better than the real Lambo he copied.
