I was sent a link to the vid, and then followed more links from there until I got the whole story.  This thing is simply insane!  We often see muscle cars getting rebuilt and the most common thing I hear about them is that yeah, they make power but you still have to cruise coz an old V8 won’t handle.  Even with a new trick suspension system fitted you never see them playing on the track.  I drool when I watch Overhaulin’ and see Foose and the crew building the hottest cars ever.  Some get serious engines too, and I always wonder how they’ll be to drive.  Well the chaps at Legendary Motorcar Company answered my question.  Ok, so it’s not quite a V8, there’s two extra cylinders under the hood with a healthy addition of boost, but it was still a ground-up rebuild.  A rebuild with speed AND handling in mind.

This was on their site: “The culmination of almost two years of hard work by the team at Legendary Motorcar, the Cuda’ is the successful realization of a seemingly impossible goal. Can Legendary Motorcar build a resto-mod muscle car that will rival the world’s most exotic super cars?  The television show Dream Car Garage, which can be seen each Saturday on SUN TV, has followed the construction of the Super Cuda’ from a rusted shell to show car and track star. This week’s show is the season finale, featuring the exciting shootout between the twin-turbo V10 powered Super Cuda’ and an Enzo Ferrari. Peter Klutt, President of Legendary Motorcar, and Chip Foose debuted the Super Cuda’ at the SEMA convention in Las Vegas . The car was an instant hit but it had yet to achieve its most important goal, to match the performance of an Enzo Ferrari and to goover 200mph.  It all came together on Tuesday December 1st. The Super Cuda was cleared to run on the track. Grey skies and the threat of snow gave way to sun. As the track warmed, speeds increased and the Super Cuda’ punched a hole in the air topping 208mph with still more power to spare.”

The best thing you’ll hear in the vid?  When Peter says “above 200 the Cuda’ was running out of aero… and I was running out of cohones”.

Here’s a few build pics, you can check out the rest of the pics here.
